Chad Gilbert, New Found Glory Guitarist, Dies at 45 | Core Community

Chad Gilbert, founding member and guitarist of New Found Glory, has passed away at the age of 45.

According to a statement shared by his family, Gilbert passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 20, surrounded by friends and family, with his wife and mother by his side.

Gilbert had been battling cancer since 2021 and underwent surgery earlier this year after three tumors were discovered in his brain. Despite his health struggles, he returned to the stage with New Found Glory in June for an emotional performance in Nashville.

Beyond New Found Glory, Gilbert was also known for his work with Shai Hulud and International Superheroes of Hardcore, leaving a lasting mark on the punk and hardcore scene.
